Gold Prices Fall in Pakistan After Reversing Previous Gains

Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a notable decline on Thursday, reversing part of the gains seen in the previous session as international bullion prices also moved lower.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs. 3,800 per tola to close at Rs. 453,436.

The latest movement marks a reversal from the increase recorded a day earlier, highlighting the continued volatility in the domestic gold market.

The price of 10-gram 24-karat gold also declined during Thursday’s trading. It settled at Rs. 388,749 after falling by Rs. 3,257.

Gold prices in Pakistan are closely influenced by developments in international bullion markets, along with movements in the exchange rate and domestic market conditions.

The latest decline came as international gold prices followed a similar downward trend. Changes in global bullion prices can quickly affect local rates, particularly when international markets experience significant movements.

For consumers, investors and jewellers, daily changes in gold prices can have a direct impact on purchasing decisions and the value of existing holdings.

Gold remains a widely followed asset in Pakistan, with demand coming from jewellery buyers as well as individuals who purchase the precious metal as a store of value.

The latest APGJSA figures provide the closing rates for Thursday and show that the decline affected both the per-tola and 10-gram benchmarks.

The Rs. 3,800 reduction in the price of 24-karat gold per tola represents a noticeable one-day movement. However, the market can continue to change as international prices, currency movements and local demand develop.

Jewellers and gold buyers typically monitor the daily rates issued by industry bodies before making transactions. As a result, changes in the official market rate can influence retail prices across Pakistan.

The decline also comes after gold posted gains in the previous session, making Thursday’s movement particularly significant for those tracking short-term price trends.

Market participants will continue to watch international bullion prices for indications about the direction of gold rates in Pakistan. Any further movement in global markets could be reflected in domestic prices.

For now, 24-karat gold stands at Rs. 453,436 per tola in Pakistan, while the 10-gram rate is Rs. 388,749, according to APGJSA figures.

The latest prices underline the fast-moving nature of the gold market, where domestic rates can change from one trading session to another in response to developments in global and local markets.
