The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced a fully digital and paperless degree attestation system designed to simplify academic document verification for students and graduates across Pakistan.
The new initiative aims to eliminate the need for physical visits to HEC offices, reducing delays and improving accessibility for applicants seeking degree verification for employment, higher studies, or international applications.
According to officials, the system—known as the Digital Attestation System (DAS)—allows users to complete the entire attestation process online without submitting original academic documents in person. This marks a major shift toward automation in Pakistan’s higher education verification framework.
Higher Education Commission Chairman Niaz Ahmed Akhtar stated that the platform has been developed to ensure faster, more secure, and transparent processing of academic credentials.
He added that the system utilizes blockchain-based technology to strengthen data security and prevent tampering or unauthorized alterations, making the verification process more reliable for institutions and employers both within and outside Pakistan.
The introduction of the Digital Attestation System is expected to significantly reduce administrative workload, improve efficiency, and provide a smoother experience for thousands of students and professionals who require degree verification each year.
