Gold Prices Rise in Pakistan After Five-Day Losing Streak

Gold prices in Pakistan increased on Monday, recovering slightly after a five-day decline that had reduced the price of a tola by approximately Rs. 17,000. The latest increase brought some relief to the local gold market following several consecutive sessions of falling prices.

According to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs. 1,400 to reach Rs. 423,436 per tola.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also recorded an increase, climbing by Rs. 1,201 to Rs. 363,028. The upward movement marks a reversal from the recent downward trend, although it remains too early to determine whether the market will continue recovering in the coming sessions.

The previous five-day decline had significantly reduced gold prices, creating uncertainty among buyers, investors, and jewellery traders. Monday’s increase indicates that prices have started moving upward again, but the local market may remain sensitive to changes in international bullion rates and currency movements.

Gold prices in Pakistan are influenced by several factors, including global market trends, the value of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar, and domestic demand. Changes in international gold prices can quickly affect local rates, while currency fluctuations may further influence the cost of the precious metal.

For jewellery buyers, changes in gold prices can affect the overall cost of purchasing ornaments, particularly for weddings and other major occasions. Even a relatively small increase per tola can make a noticeable difference when buying larger quantities.

Investors also closely monitor gold prices because the metal is commonly considered a store of value during periods of economic uncertainty. However, short-term price movements can be unpredictable, and a rebound following several days of losses does not necessarily mean that prices will continue rising.

The recent decline of around Rs. 17,000 per tola followed by Monday’s Rs. 1,400 increase highlights the volatility of Pakistan’s gold market. Buyers considering a purchase should compare current market rates, account for jewellers’ making charges where applicable, and assess their financial needs before making a decision.

Market participants will continue watching international bullion movements, currency trends, and local demand for indications of where prices could head next. For now, the latest figures show a modest recovery after five consecutive days of falling gold prices.

Although some buyers may view the decline as an opportunity, the latest increase alone does not establish that now is the best time to buy gold. The decision depends on individual budgets, investment objectives, and tolerance for price fluctuations.
