Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an extensive meeting with Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, during his official visit to Doha. The discussion marked a significant step forward in Pakistan–Qatar relations, particularly in the areas of security coordination and regional stability.
Both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation in key security domains. The ministers agreed that expanding collaboration between the two countries is essential for addressing emerging challenges. One of the key points of agreement was enhancing coordination between the coast guards of both nations. Mohsin Naqvi expressed appreciation to the Qatari government for its continued support, highlighting Qatar’s assistance in establishing a modern firing range at Pakistan’s National Police Academy in Islamabad. According to the minister, the facility represents an important step toward equipping law-enforcement agencies with advanced training resources.
The interior minister also conveyed Pakistan’s eagerness to host the Qatari interior minister in the near future. He noted that such high-level exchanges deepen trust and foster long-term cooperation that benefits both countries. Pakistan and Qatar have consistently maintained close diplomatic, economic and security ties, and the meeting reaffirmed their shared commitment to stability in the wider region.
