Pakistani pop icon Zoheb Hassan has expressed his disappointment with individuals who failed to offer condolences following the passing of his mother, announcing that he will be removing such people from his social media friends list.
Taking to Instagram, the Disco Deewane singer shared a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, whom he described as “the single most important person” in his life. The post featured a touching photograph of her, accompanied by an emotional note that revealed his deep sense of loss and frustration.
In his message, Zoheb stated, “Any person on my friend list in Pakistan who didn’t condole on her passing, I as of now will not consider a ‘friend’ and shall remove them from my friend list.” His statement resonated with fans, reflecting both his grief and his strong stance on loyalty and empathy.
Zoheb, who rose to fame in the 1980s alongside his sister, the legendary Nazia Hassan, as part of Pakistan’s pioneering pop duo, emphasized that genuine friendship is defined by compassion and emotional support during times of hardship.
While calling out the silence of some, Zoheb also extended heartfelt gratitude to those who reached out during his time of mourning. “As for the hundreds of friends who did and made the effort to attend the funeral and the prayers, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Love you back,” he added.
The singer’s mother had been a pillar of strength throughout his personal and professional life, often referred to by him as his “biggest supporter.” Her passing marks an emotional chapter for the artist, who has long credited his family for shaping his journey in music.
Zoheb’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy and human connection, particularly in moments of grief—a sentiment that has struck a chord with many of his followers across Pakistan and beyond.
