A new notification issued by the Punjab Information and Culture Department states that Vasy Chaudhry is now the new Vice Chairman of the Punjab Film Censor Board. The notice names Ammara Hikmat, producer of The Legend of Maula Jatt, as the non-official member of the board. Previously, the post of the non-official member of the board was held by Sarmad Khoosat’s daughter Kanwal Khoosat.

The Punjab Information and Culture Department has selected the board for the next 2 years. An official from the department has assured the media that the selection of new office bearers is a routine change and is not done due to any specific reason. They said, “There is no other particular reason to change or replace any member.”

The new notification enlists five official members including Chaudhry Gull Zaman as Chairman and Vasay Chaudhry as Vice Chairman. Meanwhile other official members of the Punjab Information and Culture Department will be nominated for the position of Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department and other positions.

The non-official members of the board are Juggan Kazim, Ammara Hikmat, Ali Tanveer, Abid Rasheed, Fatima Ahmad Khan and Zaigham Gondal.
