Security Measures in Karachi Colleges Intensified
The Sindh government has announced a proactive measure to install CCTV cameras across government colleges in Karachi to address growing security concerns. The Directorate of College Education Karachi Region issued a circular urging principals to enhance safety protocols for students and staff.
Circular Highlights Security Imperatives
The circular emphasized the importance of security in the wake of increasing theft incidents and other safety concerns. “It is imperative that we ensure the foolproof security of government assets, students, and staff,” stated the regional director of Karachi colleges.
Installation to Cover All Areas
Colleges have been instructed to install CCTV cameras covering both the interior and exterior of their boundaries. These installations aim to enhance monitoring and provide law enforcement with valuable footage in case of emergencies.
Collaboration with Law Enforcement
Officials believe that CCTV footage will not only help in real-time monitoring but also assist law enforcement agencies in analyzing incidents more effectively. This step is expected to act as a deterrent to criminal activities within and around college premises.
Broader Security Measures Across Karachi
This development comes shortly after Karachi police blacklisted 110 domestic helpers for criminal activities. The police released a list containing the photographs, mobile numbers, and addresses of suspects involved in organized crimes.
Authorities stressed that most of these domestic workers were hired without undergoing the mandatory police verification process. This highlights the broader need for stringent security protocols across various sectors in Karachi, including educational institutions.
