A new biometric verification system has been officially implemented across courts in Punjab, including the Lahore High Court and all district courts, starting Tuesday. The initiative aims to strengthen transparency in judicial proceedings and curb fraudulent practices within the legal system.

Under the new system, petitioners, respondents, and sureties are required to complete mandatory biometric verification through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) before court hearings can proceed. Court sources confirmed that no hearings will take place and bail bonds will not be accepted without successful verification, ensuring authenticity and accountability in legal matters.

The biometric system is expected to reduce instances of identity fraud, false representation, and misuse of court procedures. By linking court records with NADRA’s database, authorities can verify the identities of individuals involved in cases more efficiently and accurately.
