Pakistan’s first air taxi service in Karachi

A private company has announced its plans to introduce Pakistan’s first air taxi service in Karachi next month. The CEO of Sky Wings, Imran Aslam, confirmed the news after signing an agreement with a foreign investor on Sunday. The innovative service will allow people to conveniently book air taxis through a mobile app.

Mr. Aslam emphasized that the fare for the air taxi will be significantly lower than the charges imposed by chartered plane operators. These operators typically demand a minimum of Rs 2.5 million for flights from Karachi to other cities in Sindh and Balochistan.

Initially, Sky Wings will deploy eight aircraft with varying seating capacities, with the possibility of adding more in the future. The CEO expressed optimism that the air taxi service would not only provide a convenient mode of transportation but also contribute to the promotion of tourism in the country.

“We anticipate a successful venture, and we hope that many people will join us in this endeavor, as many planes in Pakistan are currently underutilized,” Mr. Aslam stated confidently.

In addition to the air taxi service, Sky Wings is already operating an air ambulance service and conducting flights to Mohenjo-daro. The company is also involved in offering flight training programs.

The introduction of an air taxi service in Karachi marks a significant milestone for the aviation industry in Pakistan. This initiative not only offers a promising transportation option but also holds the potential to revolutionize travel and facilitate economic growth in the country.
