In a significant diplomatic development, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, paid a visit to Murree, where he engaged in constructive discussions with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The meeting emphasized expanding the long-standing Pakistan-UAE relationship beyond traditional sectors. Discussions explored potential collaborations in education reform, technological advancement, environmental protection, and sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Nawaz Sharif, speaking on the occasion, referred to the UAE as not just a diplomatic ally but a “true partner in Pakistan’s growth story.” He appreciated the continuous support extended by the UAE leadership, especially during critical times.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reiterated the province’s vision to become a hub for innovation, renewable energy, and modern infrastructure. She shared key updates about ongoing reforms in public health and education, and highlighted Punjab’s new business-friendly policies aimed at attracting foreign investment.

She also applauded UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his forward-thinking leadership and focus on global environmental efforts.

The UAE ambassador responded positively, affirming his country’s intention to increase its footprint in Pakistan’s development landscape, especially through direct investment and people-to-people exchanges.

A notable milestone discussed was the visa-free agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders, which was described as a gesture that will significantly ease bilateral engagement and cooperation.
