OnePlus Ace 6T Set to Launch as the World’s First Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Smartphone

BEIJING: OnePlus is gearing up to make global headlines once again with the launch of its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus Ace 6T, which will reportedly become the world’s first device powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

After months of speculation about its official name — including rumored titles like “OnePlus Turbo” and “OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max” — the company’s official fan club has now confirmed that the device will debut under the name OnePlus Ace 6T.

World’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 smartphone
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 marks Qualcomm’s most advanced mobile platform to date, built on TSMC’s 3nm process with improved AI capabilities, energy efficiency, and next-level gaming performance. The chipset reportedly delivers up to 30% better CPU performance and 35% faster AI processing speeds compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

By securing early access to Qualcomm’s cutting-edge silicon, OnePlus aims to regain its position at the forefront of mobile innovation, competing directly with brands like Xiaomi, iQOO, and Samsung.

Design and special editions
The OnePlus Ace 6T is expected to continue the brand’s tradition of design excellence and premium aesthetics. Reports suggest the company will also launch a Genshin Impact Special Edition, extending its collaboration with the popular gaming franchise.

According to leaks from reliable sources, the design of the Ace 6T will take cues from the classic OnePlus 6T, reviving fan-favorite features such as:

  • A high refresh rate AMOLED display with ultra-smooth visuals
  • Lightning-fast fingerprint unlock technology
  • A sleek Electric Purple color variant, reminiscent of the OnePlus 6T’s iconic finish

The Ace 6T will reportedly feature a flat-edge display, slim bezels, and a refined camera module with a 50MP Sony IMX sensor for superior photography performance.

Performance and software
In terms of software, the smartphone is expected to run ColorOS 15 (Android 15) out of the box in China, while the global version — likely launching as the OnePlus 13T — will feature OxygenOS 15. The device will also include super-fast 150W wired charging and a 5,500mAh battery, promising flagship-level endurance.

With the official unveiling expected later this month, OnePlus is set to make history once again by being the first manufacturer to bring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 to market — a move that underscores its legacy of innovation and speed.
