Junaid Khan’s Unconventional Take on Film Distribution
Bollywood’s rising talent Junaid Khan, son of megastar Aamir Khan, is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated romantic comedy, ‘Loveyapa’. However, in a surprising revelation, Junaid expressed his wish to release the film for free on YouTube, allowing everyone to watch it without any cost.
‘Loveyapa’ – A Remake of a Tamil Blockbuster
Junaid, who made his impressive debut with Netflix’s ‘Maharaj’, now steps into mainstream cinema with his first theatrical release, ‘Loveyapa’. The film is a Hindi remake of the superhit Tamil film ‘Love Today’, directed by Advait Chandan and co-starring Khushi Kapoor in her theatrical debut.
Junaid Khan on OTT vs. Theatrical Releases
During a promotional interview, Junaid opened up about the distribution of films, stating that whether a movie is released on OTT or in theaters makes no real difference to him.
“At the end of the day, a film is a film, and they’re all very dear to us,” he said. “Ideally, I would love to put it on YouTube for free so that everyone can watch it.”
However, he admitted that such an approach isn’t practical.
“It’s not always possible, and I trust the experts to decide the best way to reach the audience,” he added.
‘Loveyapa’ Set for a Grand Theatrical Release
Despite Junaid’s thoughts on free distribution, the film is set for a big-screen release on February 7, 2025. With a fresh concept and a talented cast, ‘Loveyapa’ is expected to attract romantic film enthusiasts to cinemas nationwide.
