A team of Japanese mountaineers has achieved a remarkable milestone by scaling Hasho Peak II, also known as Ilford Peak, which stands tall at 6,080 meters in Pakistan’s breathtaking Karakoram Range. The successful ascent further highlights the global appeal of Pakistan’s mountains for professional climbers and adventure seekers.

The team comprised Yudai Suzuki, Genki Narumi, and Hiroki Yamamoto. They described their journey as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, praising the Karakoram’s unmatched beauty and rugged landscapes that remain a magnet for mountaineers from around the world.

The climbers emphasized that Pakistan’s peaks hold extraordinary value for the international climbing community. With panoramic views, technical challenges, and awe-inspiring terrain, the Karakoram remains one of the world’s most sought-after destinations for adventure tourism.

Genki Narumi, an International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA) certified guide, also expressed his dedication to supporting the training of local mountain guides in Pakistan. This commitment could open new opportunities for developing sustainable mountaineering practices and further boosting Pakistan’s reputation as a hub for global adventure sports.

In recognition of their achievement, the President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, Irfan Arshad Khan, presented a commemorative shield to the Japanese climbers. The team was warmly received by Qarar Haidari, Vice President of the Alpine Club, who congratulated them on their success and discussed avenues for future collaborations in mountaineering and adventure tourism.

This successful summit not only showcases the skill and determination of the Japanese climbers but also underscores the growing importance of Pakistan’s northern regions on the world mountaineering map. With efforts to expand training programs and foster international cooperation, the Karakoram continues to stand as a beacon for climbers chasing both challenge and beauty.
