Gold prices in Pakistan continued their downward movement on Monday, extending a decline that has wiped around Rs. 6,000 from the price of a tola over two days.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs. 2,400 during the latest trading session.
Following the decline, the price of 24-karat gold settled at Rs. 463,136 per tola in the domestic market.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also moved lower. It fell by Rs. 2,058 to reach Rs. 397,064.
The latest reduction in Pakistan follows a similar direction in international gold markets, where gold prices have also experienced downward pressure.
Gold prices in Pakistan are closely linked to movements in international bullion rates, while local prices can also be affected by currency fluctuations and domestic market conditions.
The latest decline provides a notable change for consumers and investors after gold had maintained relatively high price levels. A reduction of Rs. 6,000 over two days represents a significant short-term movement in the local bullion market.
For buyers planning to purchase gold for jewelry, investment or other purposes, daily price movements can have a direct impact on the overall cost.
Gold also remains an important asset in Pakistan, where it is commonly purchased for weddings, savings and wealth preservation. As a result, changes in the per-tola rate are closely followed by consumers, jewelers and investors.
The APGJSA rate is widely watched when assessing daily gold prices in Pakistan. Market participants typically monitor both local bullion rates and international gold trends to understand where prices could move next.
The latest figures show that the domestic market has responded to the recent weakness in international gold prices. However, bullion rates can change quickly depending on developments in global markets and currency movements.
The decline may offer some relief to prospective buyers who have been waiting for a lower entry point. At the same time, investors continue to track global economic developments and market sentiment because these factors can influence demand for gold.
With gold prices remaining sensitive to international market movements, consumers and investors in Pakistan are likely to continue watching daily updates from the bullion market.
For now, 24-karat gold stands at Rs. 463,136 per tola, while the 10-gram rate has fallen to Rs. 397,064 following the latest decline reported by the APGJSA.
