Syed Rafaqat Gilani, a former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) from the Punjab province, has announced his departure from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

Gilani, who represents Layyah, made the announcement during a press conference held in Multan, stating that he will continue to serve the people of his constituency.

He expressed his condemnation of the events that took place on May 9 and cited this as the reason for his decision to leave the party.

Addressing questions about potential pressure influencing his decision, Gilani firmly stated that he had not faced any form of coercion or external influence in making this choice.
