Bushra Ansari Defends Late Actress Ayesha Khan’s Children Amid Online Criticism

Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has spoken out in support of the children of the late actress Ayesha Khan, following widespread speculation and online criticism regarding Khan’s solitary death at her Karachi residence.

Khan, a respected figure in the entertainment industry, was found deceased in her Gulshan-e-Iqbal apartment on June 20. Police reports suggested the body had been there for several days—an unsettling detail that prompted many on social media to blame her children for alleged negligence.

In response to the accusations, Ansari released a heartfelt video on Instagram, expressing sorrow at Khan’s passing and rejecting the narrative that her children had abandoned her. She stressed that people should refrain from forming harsh judgments based on incomplete information.

A Personal Connection and Private Choices

Ansari revealed that she had a long-standing professional relationship with Khan and had engaged in personal conversations with her over the years. In one such exchange, Khan reportedly told Ansari that although she had five or six children living abroad, they frequently asked her to move overseas. However, Khan consistently chose to remain in Karachi, citing her comfort, friends, and familiarity with her surroundings.

According to Ansari, Khan’s children supported her financially and emotionally from afar, often leaving money and provisions at her home. A domestic helper was also hired to assist with daily chores and meal preparation.

Clarifying the Timeline

Addressing speculation about the condition of Khan’s body, Ansari suggested that reports of it being a week old might be inaccurate. She proposed that the apparent delay in discovering Khan’s death could stem from a few days of missed contact—possibly due to time zone differences or busy routines—rather than outright abandonment.

Ansari appealed to the public and media to stop vilifying the grieving family, emphasizing that the children had cared for their mother and her decision to live alone was made independently.
