Artifact, the personalized news app created by Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, has introduced a new AI-powered text-to-speech feature that allows users to listen to news articles being read aloud.

The feature is powered by Speechify, a company that specializes in AI-powered text-to-speech. Artifact users can choose from a variety of natural-sounding voices, including those of Snoop Dogg and Gwyneth Paltrow. They can also adjust the reading speed and audio quality.

To access the new feature, users simply need to tap the play button located at the bottom bar of any article. The audio can continue to play in the background even when users navigate away from the app.

The new text-to-speech feature is a welcome addition to Artifact, which already offers a number of other features powered by artificial intelligence, such as the ability to summarize articles and rewrite clickbait-y headlines.
