Spain Top Euro 2025 Predictions, But England Ready to Challenge Again

With the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 set to begin in Switzerland on July 2, titleholders England enter the tournament with confidence, though all eyes are on Spain, who come in as the bookmakers’ top pick.

Having recently conquered the world and Europe in back-to-back tournaments, Spain has transformed into the dominant force in women’s football. Their odds at 2/1 reflect not just recent silverware but the depth in their squad and domestic success, especially with clubs like Barcelona setting benchmarks across Europe.

Yet England, boosted by young talent and proven leadership, are ready to fight. Players like Michelle Agyemang, who scored seconds into her senior debut, represent a new generation rising under manager Sarina Wiegman. With key veterans still in place, the Lionesses are positioned as serious contenders.

The tournament’s group stage promises immediate drama. In Group D, England must face traditional powerhouse France, the tactically sharp Netherlands, and Wales, who are making their long-awaited debut at a major tournament. France, led by the dynamic Katoto, are under pressure to deliver after past disappointments.

Group B features Spain alongside three fast-improving sides: Italy, Portugal, and Belgium. While Spain are tipped to dominate, they cannot afford complacency—particularly against Italy, whose tactical resilience has often surprised higher-ranked teams.

Germany and Sweden are favourites in Group C, but debutants Poland, with red-hot forward Ewa Pajor, could challenge that hierarchy. Denmark, too, are not to be overlooked.

Hosts Switzerland, competing in Group A, will lean on seasoned midfielder Lia Walti to anchor their campaign. Alongside Norway, Iceland, and Finland, the group may appear balanced, but Norway’s star-studded attack and redemption arc make them dangerous.

Young breakout players including Norway’s Signe Gaupset and Sweden’s Ellen Wangerheim will also be ones to watch, as the competition promises both emerging talent and elite battles across the board.

The road to the July 27 final in Basel will test every squad’s depth, but the mix of established names and new challengers ensures Euro 2025 is shaping up to be the most competitive edition yet.
